This Privacy Policy explains how the Chess Master mobile app (also published as "Bậc Thầy Cờ"; "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. The app is a collection of classic board games that you play against a friend on the same device or against the computer. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Information stored on your device
The following is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:
- unfinished games, so you can continue where you left off,
- your results against the computer (wins, draws and losses per game and level),
- your settings (language, board theme, sound),
- whether Premium is active, which the app re-checks with Google Play each time it starts.
All games are played on the device; the computer opponent and move hints run on your phone, not on a server. You can delete this data at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → Chess Master → Storage → Clear storage, or by uninstalling the app.
Device backup
If backup is turned on in your device settings, Android may include the app's saved games and settings in your device backup to your Google account. This backup is made and stored by Google under your account and is governed by Google's privacy policy; we have no access to it. Your Premium status is never included in backups: it is always confirmed with Google Play instead.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app uses Google AdMob to display ads: a banner on the main menu, an occasional full-screen ad between games, and optional rewarded ads. To serve, personalize (where permitted) and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID, and on newer Android versions, the Android Privacy Sandbox advertising APIs (Topics and attribution),
- device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, language and app version),
- approximate location derived from your IP address,
- ad interaction data (such as impressions and clicks) and diagnostic data.
This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Ads in the app are limited to content suitable for a general audience with parental guidance (PG).
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy options on the app's main menu.
On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path may vary by device).
Premium removes all ads from the app.
A move hint can be unlocked by watching a rewarded ad. Watching it is always optional, and the app tells you before any rewarded ad starts.
Purchases (Google Play)
The app offers Premium as a subscription (monthly or yearly) and as a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are made through Google Play Billing:
- Google Play processes the payment. We never receive your card number, billing address or other payment details.
- The app receives from Google Play only which Premium products your Google account owns and the status of the purchase, so it can unlock Premium on every device signed in with that account.
- You can cancel or change a subscription at any time in the Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions, or with Manage subscription in the app's Premium screen. Restore purchases asks Google Play again for purchases already made.
Payment data is handled under the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: to load ads and to talk to Google Play for purchases.
- Advertising ID and ad services: used by Google AdMob as described in section 3.
- Google Play billing: to buy and restore Premium, as described in section 4.
- Background work (wake lock, foreground service): added by Google's libraries to finish short tasks, such as sending ad measurement data; the app itself runs nothing in the background.
The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share the data stored on your device with anyone. The only third party that receives data from the app is Google: for advertising (section 3) and for purchases through Google Play (section 4).
Data retention and security
Data stored on your device remains there until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data collected by Google is retained according to Google's policies. The app is designed to keep your information on your device, but no method of storage is completely secure.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your personal data, you can access or delete your data directly on your device at any time. For data processed by Google for advertising or payments, you can use the choices in sections 3 and 4 or contact Google. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; you can contact us with any request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
